Our Story
SBI Karaoke was there at the very birth of karaoke
Growing into one of the world's largest catalogues of karaoke videos over decades in the industry. SBI ceased trading in 2025 — but its songbook lives on.
SBI Karaoke began life as Sound Back International, started by Jim Woodfoord in the 1980s — at the very birth of the karaoke industry. Over many decades, SBI grew to become one of the largest and most respected karaoke catalogues in the world.
SBI Global supplied backing tracks and karaoke videos to some of the biggest names in karaoke, including Sunfly, Soundchoice, Karafun, Luckyvoice, Zoom, Mr Entertainer and more — and even operated live karaoke venues across Asia and Europe.
Following the sad passing of Jim Woodfoord in 2024, the company ceased trading in 2025. But the SBI Karaoke catalogue lives on, continuing to be enjoyed by singers worldwide through its exclusive distribution partners, Quadalpha and Digitop Ltd.
